How my sleep journey began…
I'm Taylor, a sleep-obsessed mama of three beautiful little ones ~ Gregory, Gabriel, and Olivia. After having our first, we went through all the “normal” phases that new parents go through... including the endless months of sleep deprivation! This had a huge effect on my job as Director of Human Resources for our local franchise, my relationships including my marriage, and my general daily responsibilities.
My journey as a sleep consultant began in 2018 when my youngest son turned 4 months old. Both of my boys were prop dependent to sleep (a severe feed-to-sleep association). I was one of the "lucky" moms who didn't have to rock for hours endlessly or bring my kids to bed with me... but the never ending night wakings to produce a bottle for my boys had me ready to pull my hair out! When Gabriel hit the dreaded FOUR MONTH REGRESSION, I decided something needed to change!
Insert LIFE CHANGING SLEEP CONSULTANT.
A sleep consultant walked me though step by step what I needed to do to eliminate sleep props, set up a sleep schedule for my little guy, and gave me the sleep confidence that I needed to pull night feeds!
In 3 DAYS my little guy slept through the night! And it wasn't long after for naps to start lengthening!
Believe me, I was skeptical too! I worried it wasn't going to work for MY child and it was going to be a waste of money. Man was I wrong!
Sleep training Gabe has changed my life in more ways than I can count. And it brings me so much joy to be able to do the same for other mamas!
On reflection of my own journey as a young mother, I realized that upon being exhausted I was often greeted with the phrase “it comes with the territory”. Of course being a new parent and completely naive, I believed it. When I “Sleep Trained” Gabe, I realized that this “rite of passage” in becoming a parent that everyone seemed to say was normal, didn’t actually have to be.
Now, after extensive training to become a Sleep Expert, I am extremely passionate and committed to saving families sleep and empowering parents to be able to gently encourage and be there for their own beautiful children as they learn to develop their own independent sleep skills. Sleep is such an important necessity for everyone to lead a happy, healthy life. Sleep deprivation is so common and it doesn’t have to be! Never trick yourself into believing that sleep is a luxury. It’s not selfish to want sleep. It’s a NEED.
